Registration: By request
Prerequisites:
RTMDx subscription (purchased separately); Local agency representative(s) designated to be key liaison(s) and trained
.
Cost: Email info@rtmtraining.com for details.

OVERVIEW: Field Support Training (FST) is on-site consultation and advice, regularly, over an extended but fixed period of time. It is intended to get you up-and-running quickly with RTM, RTMDx and/or Risk-Based Policing. FST is t
ailored to your jurisdiction and agency needs.

DETAILS: Field Support Training (FST) gets your agency up-and-running quickly and effectively following the initial adoption of RTMDx for crime prevention and risk governance. FST is a temporary period of instructor-trainee collaboration whereby a RCPS Field Training Instructor works in partnership with one or more local representatives of your agency to advise and consult on the techniques and applications of RTMDx and Risk Terrain Modeling (e.g. Risk-Based Policing). The Instructor demonstrates ‘best practices’ by example and works closely with the local representatives to communicate analytical results in actionable ways, to facilitate taskforce meetings following the ACTION agenda, and to develop multi-stakeholder strategies for crime prevention and risk reduction. The Field Training Instructor assumes most of the analytical and presentation responsibilities early on while teaching local representatives the skills and tasks required to do so. Throughout the FST period, the Instructor assumes fewer responsibilities while local representatives assume more. The goal is sustainability; agencies will learn how to continue on their own with RTM and a risk governance framework that can progress well after the FST concludes. Agency representatives are eligible for RTM Certification.

RTM Workshop Seminar

Format:  In-person, at host location
Eligibility: Anyone may organize and host
Registration: By request
Prerequisites: None

Cost: Customized to your specific needs and any budget. Email info@rtmtraining.com for details.

OVERVIEW: This 4-8 hour (1 or 2 day) workshop travels to your site, at a time and place that is convenience for you. It can accommodate any number of participants (who you invite, at your discretion). The curriculum can be customized to meet your specific needs or to address particular problem issues. RTMDx software and other training materials are included for teaching or trial purposes.

DETAILS: Generally, this training workshop introduces Risk Terrain Modeling (RTM) and teaches its technical aspects. Through case studies, it demonstrates how RTM can be used to analyze the spatial dynamics of crime (or other problem issues) and then implement prevention and risk reduction strategies that are transparent, measurable, and effective. Attendees gain skills and confidence to use RTM in their own jurisdictions. RTM is presented within a risk governance framework to enable sustainability of efforts that address vulnerabilities and exposures in communities. Customized hands-on lessons, analyses, and discussions can focus on local case studies, using local data.
